Participatory budgeting has been tried once in Aarhus in 2020, but unfortunately no further projects have been started since then as can be seen on the website https://www.sammenomaarhus.dk/budgets. A way to politically empower Internationals in Aarhus would be to each year give them a budget that they could allocate to certain projects based on participatory budgeting. The amount could be calculated based on the contribution by the Internationals to the economy.
It would empower Internationals in the city and include them in the local political life, while the city benefits from the collective intelligence of the Internationals. Decision-making regarding Internationals would be improved as they're the experts on expat life in the city themselves.
