Let's examine the technology design of many common items, and return to the most energy efficient. i.e: * Battery powered torches & radios are far more effective than USB-powered ones, particularly if they run out in the middle of a blackout. * Corded vacuum cleaners are more energy efficient, compared to cordless ones (which need to charge for 16 hours, for a 45 minute use). * Laptops are more efficient than wireless tablets, with only 1 power device instead of 3 (tablet, keyboard, stylus).
While we are add in efficient technology requirements, can we add mandatory longevity, obsolescence regulation, ease of maintenance. Europe led by France have been introducing "Right to Spare Parts and Repairs"
